GST Login Process: Detail Guide on How to Login at www.gst.gov.in

Around 80-90% existing GST users already migrated to the new GST portal. In this guide you will learn how to login at GST portal that is www.gst.gov.in. You will also learn how to Pay GST Online, GST Registration, how to track GST Application Status, how to get GST provision ID and Password from existing sales tax department etc. GST is a Sales Goods and Service Tax that replaces the entire tax system from April 1st, 2017 which is levied by the Government of India.

  • Step 1: Visit on Respective State VAT Department Website or Service tax website in case of service tax dealer and then click on “E-Services” available at your State VAT Website or service tax website
  • Step 2: Login by using you VAT ID & Password or by Service tax user ID & Password
  • Step 3: Now a Pop Window is showing in your web page or computer screen, where you may find your GST Provisional ID and Password, please note above Credentials..these details are required to login on New GST Portal…
  • Step 4: If you can not see any Pop window then, please check your dashboard you may find following link “GST Provisional ID & Password”, please click on that link and you may find your provisional ID & Password
NOTE: If you unable to login at your state VAT website, then please visit to your sales Tax department and tell them about your Login issues. You may need provisional ID and Password with you.
After Getting Provisional ID & Password you are able to Login at GST Portal, please follow below process to Login at GST Portal.If you are an existing taxpayer under Excise, Service Tax and State Tax Laws such as VAT, Entry Tax, Luxury Tax and Entertainment Tax. Once you get SMS/Email with Provisional ID and Password then you can enroll with the GST Common Portal with Provisional ID and Password. Read the Steps below

How to Enroll to New GST Portal.

Step 1. Access the www.gst.gov.in URL. The GST Home page is displayed.

Step 2. Click the NEW USER LOGIN button.

Step 3. The Declaration page is displayed. Select the checkbox for declaration and click the CONTINUE button.

Step 4. The Login page is displayed. In the Provisional ID field, type the username that you received in the e-mail, SMS or any other communication received from the State VAT and CBEC.

Step 5. In the Password field, type the password that you received in the e-mail, SMS or any other communication received from the State VAT and CBEC.

Step 6. In the Type the characters you see in the image below field, type the captcha text as shown in the screen.

Step 7. Click the LOGIN button.

Note:

  • In case you have not received or lost your Provisional ID and Password, contact your State VAT Department.
  • In case you have already created your username, click the here link to login.

Step 8. The Provisional ID Verification page is displayed. In the E-mail Address field, enter your e-mail address.

Step 9. In the Mobile Number field, enter your valid Indian mobile number.

There are two One time Password (OTPs) which will be sent on your e-mail address and mobile number you just mentioned. Both OTPs are required for the verification.

 

Forgot GST Username / User ID:

If you have forgotten your GST Username, don’t worry you can retrieve your username by following simple steps mentioned below

Step 1. Visit www.gst.gov.in URL. The GST Home page is displayed.

Step 2. Click the EXISTING USER LOGIN button.

Step 3. The Login page is displayed. Click the Forgot Username link, given below the LOGIN button.

Step 4. The Forgot Username page is displayed. In the Provisional ID field, type the Provisional ID that you received in the e-mail, SMS or communication received from the State VAT and CBEC.

Step 5. In the Type the characters you see in the image below field, type the captcha text shown on the screen.

Step 6. Click the GENERATE OTP button. The One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered e-mail address and mobile number.

Step 7. In the Enter OTP field, enter the OTP that was sent to your registered e-mail address and mobile phone number.

Step 8. Click the SUBMIT button.

 

Forgot GST Password:

In case you forgot your GST Password, you can get it again by following the steps mentioned below.

Step 1. Visit www.gst.gov.in URL. The GST Home page is displayed.

Step 2. Click the EXISTING USER LOGIN button.

Step 3. The Login page is displayed. Click the Forgot Password link, given below the LOGIN button.

Step 4. The Forgot Password page is displayed. In the Username field, type the username that you created while enrolling with GST.

Step 5. In the Type the characters you see in the image below field, type the captcha text shown on the screen.

Step 6. Click the GENERATE OTP button. The One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered e-mail address and mobile phone number.

Step 7. In the Enter OTP field, enter the OTP that was sent to your registered e-mail address and mobile phone number.

Step 8. Click the CONTINUE button.

Note:

In case your OTP is expired and you want to receive the OTP again on your e-mail address and mobile phone number, click the RESEND OTP link.

Step 9. In the New Password field, enter a password of your choice that you will be using from next time onwards.

Step 10. In the Re-confirm Password field, reenter the password.

Note:

Password should be of 8 to 15 characters which should comprise of at least one number, one special character, one upper case and one lower case letter.

Step 11. Click the SUBMIT button.

 

GST Enrolment Status on 30th April 2017

72.45% of users has been already enrolled for GST as on 30th April 2017. 6,050,177 Tax Payers ha been enrolled to GST form total of 8,350,499 tax payers with validated PAN.  Karnataka State has highest percentage (93.27%) of GST Registration of their total tax Payers.
